_{The moon swung about the earth year after year,}

_{century after century,}

_{until so much Time piled up behind them}

_{that it could not be easily counted.}

_{One day,}

_{the Moon realized she was in love with the Earth,}

_{and strove to meet him.}

_{She reached out with her loving arms}

_{and caught the sea.}

_{The Sea pulled at her as strongly as she on it,}

_{and into the sea she plunged.}

_{The earth shook and was riven,}

_{and all things living were made to suffer,}

_{and the seas boiled and the land melted,}

_{and a great chunk of the world spun off into the sky.}
