Open World - Multiplayer Sandbox Adventure

History
Everybody knows that history is written by the victors, and as I am a victor of my own role in this world I can write my own account of it, which may or may not be wholly accurate, or necessarily in the correct order.

I have been here a while, some of you may know me, others perhaps not, though it is likely we may have passed each other from time to time as we were each going about our journeys in this place, be it with good intention or ill. To explain why my tale will be in such a format is easy to state, it is simple, I was cursed, but that I will talk more about later, for it is a story before this tale, and it will help you to know me as I became when I got here, so that your opinion of me, should you not have met me yet, is not slanted by the acts the were committed by me and mine before I was, lets say, changed...

Introduction
Long ago man was immortal, he was granted mortality as a gift from God. It is our curse, but also our blessing. I would know, I was there at the start.

I'm a traveller, or so to speak, I lived in relative solitude before this land, never staying in one place too long, ready to leave at a moments notice, though not in the conventional, running down the side passageway sort of leaving, something a little more 'special' than that. But then I never was one for taking the conventional approach to things.

I have a way of doing things, a way of moving from place to place among other things, that way is called 'shifting', not a very fanciful word I know, but then it wasn't me who coined the term.

My Beginning Here
I came here what seems like an age ago, as I have experienced so much since then. How I remember when I first came into that room; that glimmering scroll , the new smells, sights and sounds that so enticed me, there were so few of us in these lands back then, it was so quiet and empty of life, so much different to the place it is now. I stepped outside of that room and my senses soon became overwhelmed from this new land, and I am ashamed to say I fainted, and hidden in the grass I lay there for many days, half dead, unaware of what was going on around me, times were changing, things were happening in this new world, for it was formed for us, and everything new has to change, change is a good thing. I awoke to find a place, similar, but not quite the same as when I left it, it was busier, it was livelier. I regret those days I missed of my life, though my life is long, for I am many ages older than any man, those are the days I miss the most, so much excitement as the world formed around those within it, I crave the knowledge of the God's who made this place so that I might see it once again.

After waking I stumbled around for a while, not knowing what to do or where to go. I started to follow the beaten track leading away from the place I now call home, off through a strange area where clearly remnants of battles in other far off places had ended up, for it looked too focused for a battle to have actually taken place there, too neat if you will, but I diverse, later I came across a strange gate, it's markings were foreign to me, and back then it said not a word, with new sights such as these I had just witnessed so many thoughts began racing through my head, and because of this a few long since buried memory's clawed their way back to the surface, it was a painful experience and measures have now been put in place to be sure those memory's never resurface like that again.

Instinctively I took the right hand path from that place, the guardian that I later discovered on the left path and I have met before, and in this world I was not in a prepared state to battle with it, we have a long standing knowledge of each other, but it cannot, none of it, be said for it would weaken both sides, and both of us enjoy what power we are deemed fit to receive too much to allow that to happen, I will say but this, that many aeons and many worlds have passed since a time when we talked about friendly matters, when we, both of us, were different shapes and sizes, for the shape he holds now is merely fitting to his post, he has no real need of it, alas for my curse else I would snap him down with a flick of my tongue, but my memory's get the better of me, like I have said, it is a different time, perhaps we both may be more forgiving this time around, well perhaps anyway.

Before The Change
I walked down the darkened corridor, my hands writhing in purple flame, I had reached my target. He hadn't got a clue I was after him, for I was the best that existed, the numero uno, and I could get to anyone, anywhere, anywhen. I had been at this game too long to think it would be easy though, there was always a complication, a spanner in the works, and here she was calmly standing by the door i wanted to go through, looking at me with those eyes i knew so well, those eyes that before i thought only capable of laughter and love, looked at me now with such malicious contempt.

As we faced each other on that night, all thought of love gone, we prepared to fight. There was nothing else to do.

At this point a bright light shone out from the ruins and I collapsed upon the ground unconscious, I don't remember what happened after that, all I remember is waking up some 20 years later, and as it would seem, unable to die. I had a new understanding of things, a new perception on the worlds around me, I never have found that place again but I don't think I really want to either. It was another life, and not one i want to readily be part of again.

I still retain the power that I weilded, but in a different way, and my curse, in part, is my immortality, I have no blessings anymore, I cannot recieve redemption through death.

After The Change

Now I didn't mention this before but there are others like me here, in a manner of speaking anyway, we came from other worlds and did not start here as many of you have done, some have forgotten the days before here, what they knew then has become but a dream to them. Those of us that remember however know of places where the sun departs and night falls allowing time for mortals to sleep, places where unfortunately magic has been forgotten and something called technology reigns instead, such places which are different to this one, and yet also ones which are close and similar to this one. In this world I have encountered many a number of both those that have forgotten their past, and those that remember it, the forgotten ones I have not worried by telling them what they do not know, though they were a little put of with my apparent familiarity when I saw them once again in this place.

One of those that remembered and was happy to see me once again was someone I know as Raven, so named as he once was one and flew above the seas of a world and was given power from the Gods to form it into a welcome place for beings to live within, I visited the place a few times and that was where I met him, I was cautious at first for he was surely trusted by them for they gave him some of their power, and Gods(or so they call themselves anyway) don't do that often, now I say I was cautious of this so I should probably explain why, it is because most of them are tricksters, they don't out right lie about something, but most of them say things in such a way that it is viewed in a way that is not so truthful, some however are nice, I get on with them well, but that is enough about Gods for now, back to my meeting Raven.

Now, I first saw him sitting in a tree in human form, for he had long since shed his raven form, though I believe he can chose to wear it again if wanted, he was just sitting there watching all below him wonder along. I sensed in him an observant nature, like he had done the same thing for many years, in times to come I would see him there many times and often would speak with him about our lives and some of our history, I could not transport my physical self to that place at that time for the world was too far away and I had not the magic to conjure the portal to that place, as such I was a spirit tourist there, I could not stay long in that place each time due to the type of magic involved, but he took me around that fair world with such great detail while I was there that I knew he loved it well, I wish I felt that way about a place, but I have not, not since I was young, and that entire place I loved has long since gone, but think not on it, for I do not, not any more anyway.

The Golemus Invasion and Resulting Infection
Late at night on Day 86 of year 3 in this land, a messenger ran to me saying that they had spotted a ship rise out of the sea and start heading towards our isle; they also brought news that there were 100 Empty Aramor carcasses piled aboard it. I immediately went forth to the location that it was estimated it would land, Wraith's Wreck, and dispatched several birds with messages enquiring as to their plans, to which none were responded to. I have the savage notion that the birds were eaten aboard that ship. Poor birds. So I watched, and waited, for the ship to arrive, checking my telescope every now and then to check its progress. It was thought that it might take up to three days for it to arrive.

During the course of that night I tried to gather as much information as I could about the ship, and its contents. It was a big ship, plenty big enough for that amount of Aramor carcasses, and of Golemus design. I studied this feature of it a lot, as I had not heard of a ship leaving our shores and disappearing before that point, so I knew not where or when it had truly come from. It all appeared to be so ancient. One particular point struck me as I was examining it though, and that was if the Aramor's were all in a pile, then who was controlling the ship?

Instead of the expected three days for it to get here, it arrived the very next day, on Day 87, it was getting to be late evening, I could tell it by the weary looks in the eyes of the folk nearby, and by the rumble in my stomach for food. It's how I usually tell the time. After arriving, the Aramor carcasses started departing from the ship, invading us, the only thing they seemed to do was walk up and down the shore, from Wraiths Wreck, where they landed, round to Fenth's Beach.

By the middle of Day 88, the Aramor's had finished unloading, 100 of them, just parading up and down the shore, we fought them long and hard, and beat some of them down, but none of them attacked us back, they only ever defended themselves against our attacks. We soon discovered why this was, for each of them brought with them an unknown disease, we contracted it when we attacked them, the infection made walking through the southern part of No Man's Land difficult for us, and we also saw things we thought long since gone, old statues, and Guardians long since vanished from our sight. Many of us contracted this infection, and we are yet to be cured of it, our only hope lies with Muratus del Mur, the god of this realm. Thankfully it does not seem to be contagious, and the disease doesn't seem to be spreading further than it already has.

Soon after these events the Tiny Men were spotted outside Tempest Fort, away from their natural home of Drachorn's Lair. They remain there, perhaps waiting for something to happen.

The rest of what's going to happen even I wish to know.

Current Times
Recently I have been commissioned to move to Golemus Golemicarum to help those in need, and that I shall do, I will make this place my home, that is if it'll let me.

I have been promoted and am now known by the title The Golemus Inquisitor (to my firends The Cute Inquisitor), and I have abilities to reflect that promotion, be warned, I am often quick in retribution.

A While After...
I am second in command of my fair isle, it has allowed me to be a part of it, to join it in it's spirit. I am a part of it, as it is a part of me, we can never be seperated.

Memorable Places, Familiar Faces
Balaric 7 - Enjoyed quite a good hunt there. I met a girl there, she appeared to be nice, but wasnt what she seemed, it was a traumatic experience for me.
