Character

Combat stats tap a row for its sources

  • 257.10 initial = 257.10

The plain force your creatures strike with when you send them into a ritual.

Treasure from won fights, where it is the cheapest of the nine to raise. Worn weapons lend it, and some shop and reward items grant it.

Damage is your attack less the target's defence, and most abilities start their sum from it. Your total is shared out across the creatures in your ritual, so the same attack goes further in a ritual of two than in a ritual of six.

  • 155.77 initial = 155.77

How much of a blow your creatures shrug off before it touches their vitality.

Treasure from won fights, at three and a half times the cost of attack. Worn armour lends it, and some shop and reward items grant it.

It is subtracted from nearly every incoming blow, so a defence above the enemy's attack leaves them doing the minimum of one damage. Like the rest, your total is shared out across the creatures in your ritual.

  • 55.90 initial = 55.90

The strength behind everything your creatures do that is not a plain blow.

Treasure from won fights, the second cheapest of the nine to raise. Worn gear lends it, and some shop and reward items grant it.

Healing, protecting, stealing life, draining principles and poisoning all measure themselves against power and ignore attack entirely. Stealing life is capped at 20 percent of a creature, and an aimed hit at 25.

  • 83.70 initial = 83.70

How early your creatures move when a round opens.

Treasure from won fights, at five times the cost of attack. Worn gear lends it, and some shop and reward items grant it.

The whole field acts in order of initiative, highest first, so it decides whether you land a killing blow before the other side answers or after.

  • 104.96 initial = 104.96

How readily the realm's heat answers to you, in a fight and on the road.

Treasure from won fights, and one of the dearer of the nine. Worn gear lends it, and some shop and reward items grant it.

It is added to the heat you get for a fight you start, and a quarter of it is added to the heat of every step on your own land, or on any land while you belong to none.

  • 28.75 initial = 28.75

The realm's willingness to tilt a moment your way, or against you.

Treasure from won fights, but only on about one win in eight, so it grows in jumps rather than steadily. Clickables in the lands hand it out, and worn gear lends it.

On roughly one scene in three, luck finds you Winertia; luck below zero loses it instead. In a fight, luck on either side can double an effect or cancel it outright.

  • 79.05 initial = 79.05

How readily your vitality comes back to you.

Treasure from won fights, and by far the dearest of the nine to raise. Worn gear lends it, and some shop and reward items grant it.

It swells the vitality your house pays you on every refresh, by up to half again, with half of that reached at 2,000. After a fight, every creature you sent is brought back up to at least its regeneration as a percentage of its maximum vitality. Your regeneration is shared out among them like the other stats.

  • 52.82 initial = 52.82

Your nose for a price, and how hard you are to overcharge.

Treasure from won fights, at one of the higher costs of the nine. Worn gear lends it.

It takes up to 25 percent off a dwelling, a weapon and your house rent. The discount climbs fast at first and then flattens, reaching half its maximum at 750 and never quite the whole 25. It is the one of the nine the fight engine never reads.

  • 93.81 initial = 93.81

How well you hold together while crossing land that is not yours.

Treasure from won fights, at one of the higher costs of the nine. Worn helms and shields lend it.

Stepping into another house's territory costs you vitality, and your energetic immunity cancels that percentage of the loss. At 100 the crossing costs nothing at all.

Skills that only grow

  • nothing yet = 0.00

The weight of your own will, built by going where the realm pushes back.

Every scene you enter that costs action points. Going in above the viscosity minimum pays more than going in below it. The secured day streak pays as well.

Your share of a forge wish. There are five bands, from a tenth to a half.

  • 80 initial = 80.00

How far your character can still be reshaped. It starts at 80 for everyone and is only ever spent.

Nothing raises it yet. Every card you take by converting permanent stats lowers it by one.

The price of your next card. At 80 a card costs 10 points; each point of plasticity you lose makes the next card dearer (59, then 69, then 81 ...), and each point above 80 makes it cheaper, down to a floor of one.

Patient hunter gets his prey

Silent's Helm
Dragon Helm-Gift from Zleiphner

I was born under the bloody glow of Mars. My soul has ever since craved for war. That is all I remember of my past. Ever since my soul was ripped from my body and i woke up in this strange land. I like it here, the echoes of war are on every roads and the clash of weapon is carried far and wide by the wind. I do not know what my future holds but I will strive everyday to reach my goals.

The Village

Destiny finally brought me into Golemus. I explored these lands until I came upon an exhilarating sight. The village, my village lies on Mount Kelle'Tha. The story of my past washed over me as my gaze swept over the village.

I was still a young boy when it happened. A mighty army marched towards our village. Scouts reported that our forces would be vastly outnumbered. The king ordered that all the people should be put to safety. Hence the populace retreated behind the forts walls. Our defenses were rapidly organised.

War raged. Our warriors fought valiantly. They were few but well trained. Their mastery of the sword and bow was unmatched. We rejoiced as wave upon wave of our enemies came crashing to their death upon the castles walls. Victory seems to be at hand. Then our opponent took a radically new strategy that doomed us all..

The siege started. Our food and water supplies were rapidly depleted. Hunger and thirst decimated our people,  worse than the blades and arrows of our opponents. Defeat was inevitable. We refused to surrender. We would not die disgraced. The echoes of laughter ceased to fill the castles. We were all grim and silent. The stench of sickness and death reeked the air. That was what we were waiting for, death...

A mighty assault was launched. Our last defenses crumbled. The walls were finally breached. A massacre followed. The people were slain mercilessly. I was left for dead, a grizzly sword slash at my side. When I awoke I had lost everything. My family. My friends. My people, all were gone.

I fled from the pain. I healed my wounds using the little knowledge I had received from our healers. Using herbs, that I always carry with me from that time, I was able to survive. The damage done to my mind was not that easy to deal with.

I lived in the woods, training to bring revenge to my people. My hatred consumed me. I fell into an endless void. What I did during this time is not known to me.

When I found myself again, I was on the Paper Cabin's floor. My quest for myself began on that day.At last my dreams will cease.

Unconciously I was living by the ways of our warriors. With pride and honour.

Battle Log

Day 7
A cold realisation dawned upon me. I have been hiding from my past. Drenching my hands in blood to hide to forget. The battles I have waged seem useless to me. Afraid, I was afraid of the truth. Images have been haunting my nights, images of a village hidden in the mountains. Did I live there? I do not know yet. I will find out in due time, I will rest my soul and start to look for answers. I shall strip myself of my sword. I shall carry it again when I deem myself worthy of carrying a weapon again. I preyed on the weak, destroying them without feeling any remorse. I shall follow the way of the warrior and feel the exhilaration of victory again.

I have retrieved my weapon. I shall punish myself no more

Day 15
During my many days of isolation, nightmares haunted me, threatening my sanity. I constantly awoke to screams of pain, screams of death. Day and night they echoed in my head.

Day 17
I have sworn to protect the Tree from harm. Only death will keep me away from my task. I breached the loreroot defences on this day.

Day 18
Golemus...

Day 32
My nightmares are starting to fade away. My mind is solely fixed on the wellbeing of the Tree. Still I must find a way to enter Golemus.

Day 33
The Tree bloomed. One of the blooms lies in a locket dangling around my neck. The Tree will always be with me. I joined the Tainted Warrior alliance on this day I regained my freedom on the same day.

Day 40
I have decided to follow the pledge of knights. I will protect the weak, defenseless, helpless, and fight for the general welfare of all.

Day 41
I have been knightened by Queen Ailith.
Sir Silent Warrior, honoured Knight of the Tree and champion of Queen Ailith.

My riddle

I come and go but I never move. What am I

Best answers goes to my master

Honour through victory Personal hate list

All those who wish to harm the Tree or any friend of the Tree are my enemies.

Hatred is for the weak minded. People whose actions are dictated by hatred never think before they act.
These people die in the hands of the skilled warrior who masters his feeling. Your mind should be devoid of hatred to be worthy enough to hold a weapon. Become one with your weapon, cold and unwavering and your enemies shall fall swiftly.

Fight for honour and you shall die with pride
