At first glance: Glume is a slightly plump young woman, excessively tall though she tries her best to hide it by slouching. She is adorned in all manner of rough leather, feathers, and other natural findings. She keeps most of her upper body covered, but her somewhat pale legs are usually exposed, and she goes barefoot wherever she can. Her dark auburn hair is pinned up at the sides, and falls in messy curls down to her back. Her murky blue eyes seem to glance around at nothing in particular. Though naturally indifferent, she is easily distracted by exotic foods and beverages, and seems to come alive with curiosity whenever they are near. Strange, somewhat spicy smells seem to surround her in a fog, its not unpleasant, but it isn't exactly a normal fragrance either.
A bit of background: Glume comes from a nomadic group of people, never content to stay in one place for too long. They're quite civilized, though others tend to view them as wild and tribe-like due to their unusual manner of dress, and the strange ways they behave in social gatherings. Her father and uncle were responsible for preparing great feasts, both for her people and for the natives of wherever they happened to be visiting at the time. Glume was put in charge of gathering ingredients at a young age, so she has learned to appreciate where good flavors come from. She has always aspired to follow in her fathers footsteps, and be a chef, so it should be no surprise that she would work on recipes on her own. Once perfected, she would try these recipes out on family and friend... but as it turned out, a lot of her dishes had certain side-effects. Not all of them were bad, mind you, but her people were growing a bit weary at sampling her wares. Upon seeking her fathers council, she decided to set off on her own and figure out a way to make food that was not only delicious, but beneficial as well. She has sense been wandering here and there, researching whatever herbs and spices she comes across. She makes her way by trading recipes with locals and doing odd-jobs along the way, though she longs for something more permanent and stable so she can once again feel like part of a larger cause.
